So Much To Be Thankful For…
As 2024 comes to a close we have so much to be thankful for. We started the year not having any scheduled missions. We waited on the Lord to open doors and show us a plain path, and He certainly did.
In March we were asked by Operation Renewed Hope to carry much needed food to Hosannah Baptist Church in Jacmel, Haiti. We delivered over 47,000 pounds of beans, rice, and cooking oil which was distributed to a missionary and at least 3 churches.
In early May, 13 ministries came together to allow us to carry about 55,000 pounds of food and other supplies to provide to the International Orphanages and Schools Children’s Home and to at least 15 churches, touching well over 2,000 people.
Then in June we worked with Parakelo Ministry in Haiti to carry over 60,000 pounds of food to Jacmel to distribute to 16 churches in the mountains above the town. The food situation in Haiti is abysmal due to the gang activity in the capital. The pastors reported back that the churches sharing food in their communities made a huge impact on non-believers and gave them increased opportunities to share the Gospel.
Looking Ahead - 2025
Mission
We are in the preliminary stages of planning a trip to carry food and supplies to the iOS Children’s Home and Parakelo Ministres, in February. As we have done in the past, IOS and Parakelo will purchase the food and other supplies needed, but Sea Hope will raise the funds to purchase diapers and formula and collect gently used clothes for the children. We are also planning a medical clinic for the Children's' Home and local church. We have a committed volunteer doctor going with us but are looking for a volunteer nurse as well, please contact us if interested.
If you would like to help fund baby needs and formula: Please send your donation to ABMI in Pisgah Forest, 3232 Hendersonville Highway, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768 and put on the memo line “Sea Hope, Baby Needs”
. Rest assured everything given will go specifically to purchase formula, diapers, and cleaning items for the these little ones.
SEA HOPE Insurance Survey:
Our insurance company has requested we do a Condition and Evaluation survey. I have contacted a couple of marine surveyors but so far have not found one that will do the complete survey. Please pray that we find someone. We must get this done to maintain our insurance. This will be done during our annual shipyard maintenance in March.
Please help us pray for the needed funds for the mission needs and that a surveyor will be found,
We spent the summer months in Ponce. We did a major repair to our port diesel generator. The Lord lead us to the right man to diagnose the issue and supply the parts.
We watched the weather closely since the conditions were ideal for hurricane formation. But God. He used flies, lice, and frogs to plague the Egyptians. This year He used Sahara dust and dry air to accomplish His will. We watched tropical wave after tropical wave lose its energy and not turn into a hurricane as they encountered the dust and dry air in mid-Atlantic. God graciously spared the Caribbean from any major hurricane after the early season hit by Beryl.
Mary and I are back in North Carolina to spend the holidays with family and friends. We are taking the opportunity to get some medical things done also, Lord willing.
GOD is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Come behind in no gift.. be perfectly joined together with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ, serving in Hait. I Corinthians 1 Thank you !!!
Serving HIM Joyfully,
Buddy and Mary Puryear
