Our Lord and Savior tended to physical as well as spiritual needs of people during his earthly ministry. We want to do the same through conducting short term medical clinics and disaster relief missions, while sharing the Gospel and love of God.
Many organizations currently do similar missions, but what sets us apart is we want to conduct our missions via a small ship. God has graciously provided a vessel. It is also retired from the navy, and it is a rugged, well built boat. It has a full galley, dining area, 24 bunks, and a 12x23 foot room that is ideal for our intended use. Being a navy vessel, it is all function and no luxury. We named the boat SEA HOPE. It is fully paid for and we have the funds to move her from her current homeport of Seattle, Washington to a temporary home in Gulfport, Mississippi. I say temporary, because my burden is to go in the name of the Lord to serve people...and the boat needs to be on the field to do that.
Operating a vessel of this size is expensive. There is always something to repoir or to upgrade. It costs quite a bit to fill up a 6800 gallon fuel tank. But our God is faithful. He has met every need so far, and we trust Him to continue to meet our future needs. Will you be one of the people He uses to supply our needs?
